About Songs and Release

In 2025, all four members compose and write lyrics. most of the songs which released just after formed the band are composed by Tadashi Hasegawa and written lyrics by Ryutaro Arimura. currently most of the singles are written by these two.

No, unfortunately. As of 2025, the period covering the 4th album 『Traumerei - トロイメライ』 (2002) through the 10th album 『Dona Dona - ドナドナ』(2009) is not available on subscription services. However, it is easy to get CDs of them including used so please get and have a listen to these fascinating songs.

They changed labels many times and the best albums were released each time they switched labels. Some songs were re-arranged with best album versions so please have a listen to them and compare them with original versions.

Given their long history and extensive discography, it's challenging to select a definitive "best" release that would satisfy all fans. However the self-titled album, 『Plastic Tree』 released in 2024 is undoubtedly a masterpiece that fully captures their various charms, it is excellent starting point for first-time listeners in my opinion.

About Concerts

I get the impression that everyone is enjoying themselves freely as they like. It's a little more intense than J-POP bands, but compared to other Visual kei bands, it's calmer.

Female fans make up majority, but there's a diverse fanbase, including male fans, those who look like they're from other countries, and fans who come by themselves. The members have mentioned that the average age of the fans is a little higher.

There seems to be a lot of fans with black clothing including T-shirts for merchandise, probably because there are a lot of Visual-kei fans, but there are no particular rules. I don't think there are any rules specific to them, but it's safe to follow general manners (such as tying your hair if you're head-banging, avoiding high heels at gigs venue, etc.).

The concerts series called "Peep Plastic Partition (commonly known as PPP)" which began during the COVID-19 pandemic, has been streamed on the platform Zaiko. It offers a different appeal compared to watching in gig venue or concert hall.

Tokyo, Kanagawa, and Chiba are the most common, and on tours, they often add Sendai, Hyogo, Kyoto, Kanagawa called as To-Mei-Han area (Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka). the last concert outside of Japan was held in Taiwan in 2017.

Some songs have but you can choose to do it or not. I’d like to introduce them on this website in the future.

It’s often delayed. It also often ends late because sometimes they perform about 20 songs including double encores. Please be careful when you go home.

They have a year-end show called "Yuku Pura K uruPura." In the past, they have played songs selected by fan votes in a ranking format.
"Peep Plastic Partition" (PPP), which began during the COVID-19 pandemic, is a unique live show with a set list centered around one song, which is also streamed live at the same time.
Tours after the release of new songs and Halloween live shows only for fan club members, also have become standard.

It has a laid-back atmosphere, which is a stark difference from when they're playing, and this is one of the charms of their shows.
My impression is that the order of speaking length is Ryutaro > Tadashi > Kenken > Akira.

It hasn't been seen often in recent years, but sometimes you do see them.

About the Band and Members

Most fans seem to call them Pura or Pla, but some also abbreviate it as Pla-turi or PT.

Bassist, Tadashi Hasegawa is.

Since forming, they have been active for over 30 years without disbanding or taking a hiatus. That's amazing.

Fans called Tadashi Hasegawa and Ryutaro as Chiba-gumi who are from Chiba Prefecture.

There are various speculations online, but they have revealed such identities, the truth is unknown.

It is also not officially disclosed, but Kenken fits in well as being the younger brother of the others.
